Health Cards
The GHA Health Card is issued by the Gibraltar Health Authority (GHA) and serves as proof of eligibility for medical services under Gibraltar’s public healthcare system and is primarily for qualifying individuals either working or living in Gibraltar.
How We Can Help With Health Cards
- We complete and submit your application on your behalf, by handling the online submission through your eGov account & upload all supporting documents
- If necessary, we print the application form and supporting documents, book an appointment on your behalf and submit everything in person at the Registration Section at St Bernard’s Hospital in Gibraltar
- We liaise regularly with the Registration Section to monitor progress and ensure everything remains in order until the cards are mailed and received
Why Might You Need a Health Card?
You may need a Health Card to:
- Access GP and other public healthcare services
- Access medical treatment, consultations or other healthcare services provided through the GHA
- Add an eligible dependant, such as a spouse or child, to your healthcare registration
Important Things to Remember
- Entitlement to a GHA Health Card depends on your residency, employment and personal circumstances
- Changes to your address, employment, residency status or family circumstances may need to be reported to GHA
- Eligible spouses and children may require their own registration and supporting documents
- Make sure your Health Card remains valid and renew it when required
- A Health Card is not private medical insurance. It provides access to healthcare under the applicable GHA scheme and does not replace private health insurance
- Keep your Health Card safe as you may need it when accessing GHA healthcare services
- All documents not issued in English must be translated into English by a certified translator
- Your Register of Property Occupation (RPO) must be active and up-to-date to avoid any delays or issues with processing your application
